I'll be very busy viewing the dvds of our gazillion pictures this weekend... maybe I should buy popcorn.

Ah, my weekend will be filled with niceties and prettiness and awesomeness. I miss my hubby though. But will see him in a week.

Plus, our very talented florist featured the bouquet he made for me as his FB's profile pic... it is so lovely.

Happy Chinese New Year!

The last 3 days feels more like a HM compared to the holiday we spent in SG and Langkawi. Maybe because of the scenery and the relax atmosphere in our hometown. I am so glad I went home to my hubby this Chinese New Year.

I miss going home here. When I was in college I would go home the minute the last exam for the term is done. I would queue in bus stations and take “chance passenger” status just to be home. And during enrolment I would be stuck with new classmates because I was a late enrolee, no more spot is available from my old block. I would stretch my vacation every opportunity I have. It was during those long breaks that Warren and I would talk, chat for countless hours (as friends) because he’s on vacation too. He’ll drop by our house every afternoon after his work from his Dad’s warehouse – the very same warehouse I am in today while writing this blog entry.

I miss my parents of course, on the first morning I was here I was almost in tears (okay I admit I cried not “almost”), things are different in this side of town compared to the usual mornings I am accustomed to. But W did his best to make me feel at home. The whole household as a matter of fact, MIL & FIL are so nice. I like it here. If not for my parents & career in Manila I would settle here in a heartbeat. Hubby would need not persuade me to stay put.

The point of this entry? None. Just want to share the holiday cheers, Kung Hei Fat Choi everyone. Home is where the heart is, and wherever you are you know where your real home is. I am just glad I’m happy where I am right this very moment.

Being married is not a piece of cake. It requires a lot of patience, understanding and self-sacrifice if you want a peaceful, harmonious life. My intro would sound like there is trouble in paradise but it’s the other way around. I am blessed, with just 1 month of married bliss I see things bright and clear and I hope and pray to stay this way (yes Lord, please).

My husband and I are in a long distance relationship when we were still boyfriends and girlfriends. Now that we’re married, we still are in this setup. Yes we always talk that things would change once we have kids. And even without he gave me 2 years to enjoy my career, he didn’t change a thing. 2 years from now we will revalidate what to do with our family even if it would still be just the two of us (minus kids). The guy I married is that kind and selfless. His unconditional love made me think twice before whining. His patience and thoughtfulness (not to mention generosity) makes me hold back with the harsh words trying to escape my mouth. I am lucky. The Higher Ups has been so kind to me.

This emo entry is for my baby W, Happy 1^st month Panget! I love you! What I wrote was nauseatingly cheesy but I don’t care, it’s only once in my life that I get the chance to celebrate how deeply in love I am because I just got married last month (hehehe).

And to my fellow sheep ladies, this year (Water Dragon) is still our year (or yours)… love will bloom for the lady sheep this year… best time to get married they said. Kung Hei Fat Choi boys & girls. I’m off to see my husband this weekend. Happy me!

Robin thoughts on a Thursday

I am supposed to be working, I got tons of backlog and I need to be back on track. You see I got married (hahaha ibroadcast ba) and I was away on honeymoon that I haven’t had the chance to greet everyone on the blogosphere a Happy New Year. There I greeted everyone in time for the Chinese New Year.

Going back as to why I disrupted my Oh So Busy life is because I am too bothered with what I was able to glimpse on. Yes glimpse on because I wasn’t able to read the full story. I just took a quick read on the article regarding HIMYM. I am way too behind the current series. I don’t want to jump into conclusion but I am so concerned as to who is the Mom. It took me a long time to accept what I have read some time ago from Carter Bays that it is definitely not Robin. I am rooting for Robin. I want it to be Robin and for my sanity it got to be Robin.

But life must go on, the very reason why I’m writing this. I just have to let it out. I miss the gang. Will download more of the episodes soon and will have a marathon this weekend.

I posted the enumerated items below on this very blog 6 (27 July 2005) years ago. Before I have posted side comments on how I feel on each item and I can’t help but smile because I sounded so immature, you can click here to reminisce. This time I am posting it again without any side & snide comments. The other part of me is very happy, I am blessed and loved but the half part of me is sad for things I cannot comprehend. Don’t take it the wrong way, this has nothing to do with my upcoming wedding, it’ll be the highlight of my adult life, to be one with my “the one”. What I’m feeling is something that adults can’t and will not be able to understand and resolve, it is the pains of growing up. Read on, think, ponder but don’t dwell on it too much. Unload your burdens, let’s stay honest and keep the love alive. Happy Thursday folks!

1. Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
2. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
3. Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

38 more days and we still don’t have the dresses. Not that I am nervous because I have complete faith in my cousin Ate Daisy, I love her to death :) (okay I admit I’m a little stressed out) it’s just that I wanted to finalize all the details, dresses included so that I can relax. I just hope that the dresses of the bridesmaids will arrive next week for the first fitting.

The shoes? Well my supplier (will divulge the name soon after the delivery so as not to compromise the quality of the shoes) is again asking for more time. Well I am a good client, I can bend backward even sideways if you want but enough is enough. I cannot take any more extensions. Nov 19 I’ll go marching to the shop and will get all the shoes. All 10 pairs of them!

I am writing this while waiting for my bus ride to Bicol. W’s maternal grandmother passed away. And to show my love and support I’ll visit the family this weekend. It is sad for our family as well because my Lolo Roming died too, a day after W’s Mama Alice joined the Lord. Death in both our families a month before our wedding. Sad but life goes on.

Today is 11.11.11, a great day to get married as advised by numerologist. I was wondering earlier today why W & didn’t consider this date to tie the knot. I guess because this date is not that special to us. But to those getting married today, CONGRATULATIONS!

They said this date is like a door, it is open for opportunities and ready for closure. We all have a secret wish, pray hard for it today. We all have baggage, release yourself from the straps.

Boys & girls, it’s Friday (I can hear myself saying this line to the tune of Rebecca Black’s song hehehe) have fun, enjoy, keep safe and make a wish!

I Miss You

I really do.

I miss blabbing and musing about all things under the sun.

You see I am getting hitched in less than 80 days so my time is pretty devoted to preparations. We started early and I thought by this time I'll be chillaxing, watching my favorite tv shows but boy I am so wrong. Although everything is under control and I have never been a bridezilla yet, just thinking about things that still needs to be done stresses me. Maybe I really need to start practicing the mantra " let go and let God".

My birthday month was pretty awesome, I just want to share it with you because you know I always have birthday jitters every year - the price for growing old. But it was different this year, because of my busy schedule I didn't have the time to mope and think about how old and senseless the new year of my life would be. Well that's typical drama queen me but this year was really fun. People Tells me all the time that this is the last birthday I'll celebrate being single.

My sister and my nephew Johann travelled all the way from Bicol to spend a few days here. My best friend travelled a few thousand miles (yep from Singapore) to spend my birthday week with me. My closest friends and dear loved ones were all here. My Panget was here too and gave me the thing that I really wanted (he bought me the SLR cam I wanted which surprised me because he said we'll buy it next year).

I am so blessed, last night I was able to contemplate upon realizing it's the last quarter of the year already. 2012 is already waving at me. 2011 has been so far nice to me. He stayed true to his part of the bargain. Before this year started I asked that he be friendlier and nicer to me unlike the other years and he did, 2011 was really my year. I know it was not perfect, I had a lot of silent angst about my career and work life but God is good I'll be blessed because I know I have worked hard everyday for the company. Money is tight but the drought too shall pass. I am thankful that my parents are fine, their health are not perfect but okay. I am blessed, I believe and I have it in my heart because God is with me.

So there I updated you, I really miss talking to you but be assured that you are never forgotten. I am hoping to write more next year. I intend to travel more and try new exciting things next year so you an I will have a lot of stories to discuss. Please don't be sad okay, I am just here. Bear with me for the time being and let me enjoy my being a princess soon.

I gotta go now my blog, will write more soon. I really miss you and don't go anywhere okay. I'll write more soon.

Far from Normal

So I've been reading a lot (again) lately...dry spells over hehehe.

I was lucky enough to find time to read once again, lubricate my brain a little since it has been filled with snippets of rust. And because I started reading again I don't know if it has something to do with my off then on again case of insomnia (reason why I fancy calling myself a sleepwalker). Reading is supposed to make you doze off but it is doing the reverse for me. This is the reason why I was able to finish a hardbound book with 400+ pages in 2 days. I know I have a 7 hours record of reading the HP Deathly Hallows non-stop but anything else read less than 3 days is a record too.

So the ghost month is over... we're supposed to be proactive again with our preps, I've been doing a lot of DIYs again after pressing pause for 2 months. We have 4 months ++ more but time flies the next thing we'll know we have barely a month to go.

Am I excited? Yes ofcourse :) who wouldn't? But I am containing myself just giggling inside.

Anyway I need to run, it's Saturday meaning errand & prep day. I just want to update everyone (as if there are readers to this blog) that this blog is still breathing.

Real Life Story

I am a movieholic, I love watching movies, old & new ones, mainstream or art films. I used to do reviews, I don’t know why I don’t do any of it anymore. Everybody’s busy I know, I am and have always been but I always have the time before to go watch the latest and give it my two cents.

Was it because movies are now available for downloads after a week or so that it was shown in theatres (thanks to torrents)? Or was it because movie tickets now costs a fortune? Or was it because I don’t have a movie buddy to go with? Or was it because there are just no more worth watching flicks anymore? Yes maybe to AB&C but never to D.

I was watching Something Borrowed last night on my very dependable iPod, not for Kate Hudson but because I really like Ginnifer Goodwin and that if I would associate myself to a movie actress I would love her to be in my circle. The roles she play – always an underdog – is something that I (as a viewer) feel for, something that all of us, at one point in our lives can relate to. I like how you would continually guess how the movie would end. Guess #1 is that she would end up with Jon Krasinski, that’s always the case in feel good movies, while you have your eye on someone who doesn’t like you the way you like him or her there will always be this other person who loves you the way you love the other and at the end of the day the happy ending is that you deserved to be the first choice so you’ll end up and you’ll realize that this person you do not adore at the beginning is your one true love (I may have confused you more but I know you get the drift, don’t you?). But I was wrong. Guess #2 is that the best friend Darcy (Kate H.) would be the best friend you wanted, she’ll let you have the guy. She’s selfish at the beginning but would truly be a “friend” in the end and you’ll live happily ever after with the guy (whom you love from the very start but you’re too afraid to let your feelings known that he ends up being the fiancé’ of your best friend). I won’t be writing how the movie ends it is best you watch it if you’re interested.

Why am I babbling about this movie? It is because this movie made me realize that my life lacks the story that is worth telling over and over again. I am blessed not to have encounter too many failures that would give me the chance to retell my story on how I rose from below. I do not have an interesting rag to riches, princess from pauper story. I have never been a damsel in distress, I have never been anybody’s meantime girl nor did I been a “one who got away” character. I have the most boring story. I wake up I do the day’s work and then I rest at night. I sound like I am complaining, I guess I am – a little but I am thankful for the things and people I have in my life right now. There are just times when you want to feel colourful and hyper from the events of the day. And because when the lights are out, my eyes are just closed, my mind adrift that after a couple of hours I have to open them up and resume with the routine that is MY LIFE.

Am I ranting? I’m not. Do I have a point? I don’t. So what do I want? Nothing. That’s it – I want nothing at least I believe I want nothing.

I had my own fair share of receiving bouquet of flowers not just because it was Valentines, sometimes during ‘saries (yes month & anniv, etc.) I have even received a humongous bouquet one New Year’s Day several years ago. I am a flower fan although I always have this projection that I’m not a person really fond of flowers especially during my younger years because 1. I don’t know how to explain to my parents that this guy gave it to me, 2. I don’t want to be teased by my friends and classmates and 3. I don’t know how to drive nor have a car to drive. It always embarrasses me to commute holding one big bunch of bouquet because people would often stare at me. I love spring flowers – daisies, mums, gerberas. Roses? Not too much. But I always have a thing for baby’s breath, asters, lily of the valley and the likes. I know all about stargazers and hydrangeas too. Well we know all about the Gumamelas (Hibiscus if you want to be sosyal) since it’s the main ingredients of our bubbles, the Santan flowers (raise your hand those who would sip the stems of the small flowers because they tasted sweet?). My mother loves the Boungavilleas, with their thorny stems and flimsy petals, she used to collect different shades of this type in our garden back in our hometown. We know the Yellow Bells (Campanilla), Calachuchi (oh we feared it’s smell when we were younger, reminds us of funerals), the orchids – we love them during graduations and our Moms and Aunts collects them, placing coconut husks, eggshells, attaching the plants to dead trees, watering it with beer or their special human urine concoction – oh yes! My Mama and some aunt are orchid freaks when I was young.

I know a lot about flowers right? WRONG.

I have never been so flower dumb in my entire life.

I was amazed that there is this a whole new world of flower education. I met (well we’re just emailing, I haven’t met him personally – yet) this one amazing guy who knows all about flowers. Well he’s a master in that field, it’s his business to know it alright but man, when I was asked what flowers to I have in mind I was speechless. All I know is that I love colors, I love small petals, I hate gigantic flowers and I hate spiky and too much green in one flower arrangement.

I started googling all about the flowers I have heard and learned from the master and you can click each flowers to have an idea of what they look like. I have just learned all about Statice, Agaphantus, Snapdragon, Alstromeria, Eryngium, Peonies, etc.

It’s crazy! I was overwhelmed with too much information to absorb and all details of what they looks like so I could remember. More about flowers to be posted on the wedsite soon.

So gentlemen, very timely for the Vday, KNOW YOUR FLOWERS. Enough of the roses (Oh well unless they’re American long stemmed or Ecuadorian). Try a little research and impress the ladies.

The Year of the Rabbit

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

As we prepare for the Chinese New Year, it won’t hurt to follow a few Chinese traditions that could bring prosperity, good luck and happiness to us and to our families. It worked for our Chinese brothers and sisters so why don’t we try it and see for ourselves. Here are some tips that you can try at home:

ON FEB. 2, fill your dining table with fruits, particularly pineapple, pomelo, orange, apple, banana, grapes and dragon fruit, to attract money, harmony and prosperity. And, who doesn’t want that? Five means harvest and luck in Chinese.

Don’t forget to put two pieces of ang pao on the table so you can have better luck in the Year of the Metal Rabbit. Add more candies like macapuno on table because they mean “home sweet home.”

It would be auspicious also to have watermelon and lotus seeds on the table which signify money and luck, respectively, in Chinese.

Have your rice bin filled up during the Chinese New Year and place on top more lucky stuff like Chinese lettuce, Chinese celery, spring onions, carrots with leaves and lotus root. The lotus root implies harmonious relationship between husband and wife.

Add kiat kiat or mini ponkans on top of the rice bin overnight with P168 inside the rice bin. Don’t use coins. Use paper notes. Then, place one piece of ang pao on top of them all. (And how can we produce an exact P168 without using coins? The answer varies, you can add old P2 bills or write a check hehehe – Anne)

It is also advised to wear new underwear (hehe) and a new pair of slippers. Then you take a bath to remove all the bad luck of 2010. Even if you’re lucky in 2010 you still need to do it for the Year of the Rabbit. Use the new items you purchased :)

It is also advised that families go to Makati because Makati is the Philippine’s business district and because money is concentrated in that area.

The Year of the Metal Rabbit is generally a better year than the Tiger (last year). It promises a romantic year for everybody. Business will bloom, specifically in trading, mining (gold), real estate, hotel business.

Lucky colors of the Metal Rabbit, white, sky blue, gold, red, peach, silver, green, orange, pink and violet.

Love life in general is good for everyone except those under the rat sign (those under the rat signs, don’t feel sad… these are just guide – Anne).

Lucky signs this year: Rabbit, Horse, Goat, Dragon, Rat and Ox.

These advises were from the renowned Hong Kong-based geomancer Joseph Chau, feng shui consultant of Mandarin Oriental, Manila.

So there you go boys and girls, all the best this New Year. I bet all my single friends (whom majority are born on the year of the Goat, will be happy this year for it was advised in almost all sites that romance will blossom for all single ladies born with our sign, a few lucky ones will even get married this year (huwahaha!). It’s confirmed, our very own wedding photographer was also the photographer of O & K in their engagement session and on their actual wedding yesterday in Batangas J.

Yes I’m back after days of snoozing from the blogosphere. Here’s my entry for the year, MY HAPPY NEW YEAR, a chismax about our photographer. Well it made me really giddy cos I’m in the middle of doing my own preparation as well. I really love NU, his shots are really bright, sunny, happy, cheerful (I know the adjectives are almost the same). Whenever I look at his photos - I smile, that’s how happy he can make me through his art. I wish I could look oh so pretty also when it’s my turn to be on his spotlight for my own Kodak moment. This is how happy W made me when we made the decision of booking NU.

After this week my wediste and this blog will be back in the game. I’ll be posting new entries after we booked the other important stuff this weekend. I cannot wait to have our excel file updated as well. W has been going on and on about the budget (hehehe I’ve been giving him balloon versions of the budget, been buffering it A LOT so that he raise it haha!).

I really love Thursdays. It’s almost the weekend! Yey!

Weekend is over but no reason to be sad. Even after Tyong Stephen left we set our minds that he's just on vacation and not gone forever. Christmas is fast approaching and I haven't done any shopping yet. But no need to panic, I have already sent my pastry goddess aunt (Tita Eden) my & W's orders, we will give a few friends and some families pastries, saving us the trouble of thinking what to give them - if they will like it or not because I'm sure they'll love the baked goodies.

Harry Potter 7.1 @ Newport City Ultra Cinema

Watched HP7.1 last night with Dines, Jo & Bryan at Newport City Ultra Cinema. As an HP fan I wouldn’t miss the screening on its first week and might watch it again this weekend with the Boyps (inggit sya because of my stories).

It was my first time inside the Newport City Mall and Resorts World Casino. I can’t rave about the interior design of the mall/casino since I have already been to a number of Casinos in Macau, the Venetian included. Venetian Macau was even featured on National Geo so needless to say it is really awesome. Plus I was with my architect/designer friend so I believe Jo when he says that the design was bland.

The ultra Cinema’s lazy boy chairs and unlimited popcorn & soda concept is nice just like in the other cinemas like Gateway & Shangri-la. But something is not right with the Ultra Cinema screen, the distance of the screen from the first row was small that even when you stretch the chair into a bed (hehehe yes we were lounging, as in higa kung higa) it is still a little difficult watching.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 of two is amazing (all HP movies for me are amazing because they do not alter the story so much, it is presented the way it was narrated from the book). I love the part on how the story of the 3 brothers was depicted. And year by year I grow to love the Ron-Hermione love team. I can still hear Ron’s words in my ears when he asked Harry not to leave, he said that they won’t last 2 days without Hermione pausing then saying “don’t tell her I said that”. I was just a little disappointed that Dumbledore’s exposure on part 1 is too little. In the book even if he’s already a ghost (he was sort of just being talked about by the those who survived) he’s always there. I just wish I’ll see more of him on part 2.

In conclusion, HP3 Prisoner of Azkaban the movie is still my favourite. I really love that movie but all 7 are nice.

I was driving to work early this morning when the topic for the radio show I frequently listen to is to complete the sentence “I _________eat_______, I pray that _________ and I love________”. The topic was of course inspired by the book turned movie starring Julia Roberts, Eat Pray Love.

I have been dying to write news here for some time now, I had a birthday week, W & my bestfriend Luchie was in town and me and my boyps Mark & Yong are closer than ever. Of course there’s this celeb with my J girls and 2 get togethers with friend Jo (in 2 weeks we met twice, this is shocking knowing how busy he is). The bookfair, expos, John Mayer rainy concert, the preps and other stuff. I have a full schedule every week that I wasn’t able to jog anymore or watch the 1^st 2 episodes of TARA 4 (I was able to watch the rerun of the 2^nd epi though). Not that I’m complaining but I’m glad I am not stressed – yet.

Now the reason why I mentioned the Eat Pray Love fill in the blanks was because I had the same idea before. I wanted to write something, 3 paragraphs actually dealing with each subject, so here I go in my attempt to unleash the writer wannabe in me.

Sad to say I cannot discuss EAT in a very colourful and enticing manner. The actual topic for EAT is actually the NOT part as in I am not eating for the past 1 & a half week already. Me and my loyal dietmate Rovs is on our nth attempt at SBD. Our first SBD was really successful, it was 2 years ago our next attempts failed miserably and this time I can say we may not be that successful (again) on weight loss but it is working for us. So for the eating part I am not happy. How I miss to munch junk food and sweets. The rice I don’t miss that much but the bread! I see them every morning, the chocolates, I see them every night. But no pain no gain right? Plus it is not healthy so I am now anti-carbo loading, calories shoving and sugar infusion. I don’t know where this ambitious attempt to be healthy will take me but nevertheless there is no harm in trying.

I PRAY for a lot of things lately. I pray for my family, their safety and health. I pray for my job, my colleagues, my friends. And when I pray I thank the Lord for the blessings. But the thing I prayed hard for these past few days is for discernment, not over W because I know I’m sure but for the choices that we’re making. The Lord granted me a happy heart and I am truly grateful. I am humbled in saying that it was His will, we are just mere followers. I am continuously praying and hoping that everything will be for the best, every decision is for our happiness.

And LOVE, I love my life and the everyone in it! I just hope the good things never ends.

I am so excited to meet up with friends Rhei & Dines later today. I have this mini project to which I’ll be needing their help and talent. Also I am so thankful to this new egroup I joined, the members have been helping each other big time, as in going out of their ways to find each a better solution and suggestion to everything under the sun. I love the w@wies!

I am inside the ICU waiting room, I’ve been here for two days already, tonight would be the 3^rd night I’ll be camping here. The first two nights was with my baby but tonight it will just be Will & me minus W. I am anxiously waiting for the neurologist to arrive, we’ve been eagerly waiting for the lumbar tap results. Although Meng is already stable, chattering like her old self, eating and sitting down already we still don’t know the real reason for her seizures and what should be done in order to cure it. We want answers and we’ve been waiting for days now. I know I need to be patient because I can see that my niece is being given the best care possible. But since we’re the party waiting we can’t help but get fidgety. Fingers crossed all the time, I pray that the diagnosis is not too serious.

In less than 15 days I’ll be entering a new age bracket, I’ll be a member of the 31 and above batch. I’ve been trying to take off my mind from the diagnosis that we’re waiting for that is why I decided to read posts & forums and blogs. I came across an article of what you should have known by the time you’re 30. Although I find the list incomplete I have reacted to each one of them so I’m posting them here and giving reasons to things “By 30, you should know”:

1. How to fall in love without losing yourself. – I may sound bias but I am proud to say that I am in that state at the moment. I love the in love feeling I am right now, cheesy as it may sound I am blessed that I am madly in love with my baby but I am not obsessed with being in love. I know I don’t make any sense but trust me I am very much enjoying the roses and the thorns.

2. How you feel about having kids. – yes I want one or two but not a lot. I am sure of this that my baby and I actually have to compromise and agree that we would welcome a honeymoon baby (hahaha, did I actually gave this information out?)

3. How to quit a job, break up with a man and confront a friend without ruining the friendship. – already did with my first job, yes to this too twice and yes.

4. When to try harder and when to walk away. Yes, in all aspect there is in life

5. How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next. – hahaha, yes J

6. The names of: the secretary of state, your great-grandmother and the best tailor in town. – Lacierda? I know he’s the Press Sec (Clinton for US), Lola Mani? They have a lot sa malls :p

7. How to live alone, even if you don’t like to. – I guess I do know how to.

8. How to take control of your own birthday. – Yes, except when friends throw you a surprise one, you can’t stop them.

9. That you can’t change the length of your calves, the width of your hips or the nature of your parents. Check, but you can definitely improve it.

10. That your childhood may not have been perfect, but it’s over. – Yes and you can’t help but smile when you remember how crazy it was and cry when you remember how far you’ve accomplished for yourself.

11. What you would and wouldn’t do for money or love. – Absolutely.

12. That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs or not flossing for very long. – Yes, everything has a prize and for every bad decisions you make you will have to pay for it in the end.

13. Who you can trust, who you can’t and why you shouldn’t take it personally. –Oh yes, 30 years is a long year when spend with different kind of people.

14. Not to apologize for something that isn’t your fault. – But there are times when you can’t help but feel sorry.

15. Why they say life begins at 30. – hahaha, the best days of my life happened while I was 30 so yes yes yes J

Happy birthday to me soon. I look forward to seeing my bestfriend soon too. And my baby, he’ll be back 2 weeks from now.

I am so looking forward to next week’s escapade, so glad that Rhei invited me to go to her hometown, Dines and other good friends will be coming as well plus Boyps. I’ve been busy, happy, sad, happy again, stressed, happy, and crazy lately reason why I haven’t posted anything on this blog until today. I am writing this not to announce that I’m back but just to send out love and little recaps of what happened to me in the last 2 months.

After Marinduque, I’ve been to 2 more beaches (Puerto Galera and Bellarocca) with family and friends and one trip to Lucban Quezon to witness the Pahiyas Festival.

Vacation Mode: Pressed ON

I am already on vacation mode, not that I am going away for the long weekend but because I already have the perfect activities in mind.

My nieces & nephews are all here already that is why 6 pm everyday is the most awaited hour. I cannot wait to go home and cuddle with them. Boyps will be arriving in 2 days as well, in time for the Visita Iglesia that I planned with Ma. Friday will be a prayerful day since it’ll be spent at home with family and a procession in the afternoon. Come Saturday it’ll be spent on the beach (I love the beach!!!) or perhaps just a relaxing day at the spa (still can’t decide, hopefully there’s a beach slot somewhere in Batangas for me and some friends).

I feel guilty thinking and day dreaming about vacations because I just arrived from one. I had a 6 days well spent vacation in SG with my best friend. I promised her that I’ll be with her on her bday and I was, I love the thought that we were both there for each other when we turned 3 oh. The vacation was even lovelier because best bud M stayed true to his promise, he planned a relaxing vacation at the beach. We had an overnight stay at Bintan Lagoon, Indonesia. It's now one of my fave beach, next to Panglao (my ultimate beach favourite) it now occupies the spot formerly held by Boracay.

After tomorrow, I am free. I hope you all enjoy your long weekends. Please remember the real reason why we all have Thursday and Friday off. Take care and God bless.

yes, I am blogging from cloudy Singapore.

Day 2 of my visit to my bestfriend who's having a big three oh celebration tomorrow. While she's at work and another friend Sophie hitting the zzz's soon I'll be left here roaming the cyberzone with Luchie's still hot from the store MacBook Pro.

SG as always is still the same old busy city, no difference at all from the SG I've been to 3 years ago. The only difference now is that the people seems to be more busier than before. I have never been to NY but I always imagine that it is an exaggerated version of SG.

So here I am tapping the keyboards of Chie's baby, battling the thought of going around Orchard Rd by myself. My first day here already made a big impact on my savings account. Armani was on sale, I couldn't find the courage to stop myself from purchasing a blouse. Cotton Co is also on sale, I loaded up on summer attires not just for myself but for my Jologs friend. And since Rhei is having her big three and 1 up day on Monday, I found her the perfect gift (Rhei if your reading this, yes I did found you a nice gift).

Spending the day indoors seems like a plan since we're going out tonight.

So boys and girls, wag po akong tularan... I am a shopaholic in the making... nahawa ata ako kay Luchie.

Miss the days when I can just pick up the landline and call my bestfriend who’s just here in Manila, who happens to be just in a different city from where I am.
Miss the days when I can send best bud a text message on some random thoughts or episodes currently being showed on National Geo, I get an instant reply then… we share the same channel but not anymore, we don’t even share the same country code.
Miss the days when I can go to Makati just to have coffee with G or J then we’ll watch as the stores in GB3 were being locked by their staff – another day has gone… now traffic has been really terrible going there from where I am.
Miss the days when I am itching to go home to my old hometown… Holy Weeks, Christmases, summer vacations, sem breaks, parent’s anniversary, All Soul’s and Saint’s, and others… now I dunno if I still have a hometown to go to.
Miss the days when I say hello to the rising sun after watching DVD series marathon style. Now I am so sleepy that even talking to the boyps with my eyes open or glued to the tube can be hard work.
Miss the days when it’s already Thursday, my favorite day… now it’s already Saturday and I didn’t have a clue. It’ll be Monday once again and I would be wondering where are all my weekends?
Miss the days when I can just sit back and relax while watching a movie, now while watching my mind is making circles as to how much work should be done when the movie is over.

I keep on missing people, things & all. What is happening to my world?

Am I suppose to love (or even like for that matter) vday this year cos I am already in a relationship? I have been – for the longest time – an anti-vday advocate. Not just because I was single all those times but because I hate the commercialism that surrounded this day that was supposed to be a grand gesture of honoring St. Valentines.

I am still anti-vday not because I am obligated to give W something, I would still stick to my idealism (hehehe an excuse), that I won’t be part of those who succumbs to Hallmark or gift stores for inventing this holiday. So if in case baby you’re reading this, you’re not getting anything okay?

But wholeheartedly, I am going to greet everyone an advance Happy Vday. Enjoy this day… don’t let this holiday slip without telling your loved ones the way you feel about them. It’s your choice if you want something wrapped to go along with your I Love Yous. Take care boys & girls!

Oh Crappy Day

I woke up at the wrong side of the bed and more like from the wrong side of the world. For some unknown reasons I woke up feeling really sad and it’s not the hormones I’m sure. After so many attempts to pretend that everything is alright I gave up. I fought the strong urge to succumb myself in an oral battle with anyone who’ll take me as an opponent. It feels really weird and I hate feeling crabby, I tried the coffee fix trick and it was unsuccessful.

I then watched Cougar Town episodes that I missed, the idea was to laugh or to feel even a slight smile formed on my lips – still unsuccessful. Grayson made me angry more. The “Someday Girl” idea made me hate him more. Words of encouragement from my guy didn’t help either. Stalking John Mayer (which worked all the time when I’m bored or sad) did nothing as well to sugar coat my sour mood. What’s wrong with me?

All I want to do right this minute is pack my bags, ride a plane going to SG and be with my bestfriends. Forget the responsibilities, forget deadlines, forget everything but just sashay away from here towards them.

I feel bad for my vendor who has to deal with all my bitching earlier today. It’s not her fault and I’m sorry because I really don’t have the time and sympathy for her. Arghh!!! What’s wrong with me today?

Thank God it's almost the weekend... I want a massage, an embrace & a kiss... I want Chuck and I want them all NOW!

Valentines Day - with the all star cast it is like watching He's Not That Into you and Love Actually simultaneously... I love Director Marshall so I definitely believe that this one will be a killer (kilig).

Dear John - not really a feel good story especially the ending (not sure though if the book will really be followed, they do it all the time with Sparks books, they change the settings a lot) but I sort of like Channing Tatum *grin* hehehe

I had a viewing bonanza (on my iPod) last night in this order, season 2 episode 3 of 90210 (one of my guilty pleasures, don't mock me okay), The Ugly Truth then lastly The Reader (you can tell that I went to bed around 1 am). I don't know if it's because of the unhappiness theme of both movies (hephep walang kokontra - The Ugly Truth I know had a happy ending and it's the reason why I'm saying it's a sad one, a fake happiness, more about this later) that I grabbed my stylus and started writing this paragraph on my phone organizer:

"It's crazy being in love, you do all sorts of stupid things like NOT doing any(some)thing even if the act means saving the life of the person you care about. It makes you cry, laugh, brings a lot of absurdities and happiness in life all at the same time, how stupid is that right? Like the song "Found", is there any good in being lost that one would dare not to be found? Is there such a thing as a good loss (hehehe good riddance is not love)? Just be in the abyss? The writer would yell "Hell yes!" because being lost some(any)where with the person you love is worth it. That at the end of the day everyone is just a cuddle kind of guy/gal. We all want to be with someone to feel loved. It is not the fear of being alone that we would want to be in a relationship (even how messy and hateful it is). It is more about being afraid to overflow, to feel overwhelmed since there is no such thing as just being plainly whelmed because you have so much to give, so much to offer, too much to take with no one to catch everything you've thrown at the end of the line. Love is crazy, it's stupid, it's the most unpredictable Thing (if it's non-living), Feeling (if it's emotion), Guy (if it's a person) or Girl (if it's me hehehe) in the world. The most wanted yet most dreaded."

Why am I blabbing about this last night? Because I'm a cliche. I am feeling just whelmed no pre or suffixes (if you know what I mean).

The weather (especially the rain), the holidays & long weekends, a birthday coming up, DVDs of movies and TV series – all contributed to a sudden inspiration that made me write again. I’ve zoned out for weeks (months) now, posting nothing but pictures and breathing entries (messages informing that I am still alive). I’ve attended a lot of events with friends and families that I usually write stuff about but since I’ve been zoning out and zombying (not an official word) I didn’t post anything of these said events here. I have a lot of time if I want too, having all of those holidays have given me ample of time to write but because I was too tired (and lazy) to do so, all I did was just formulate sentences & paragraphs in my head. I never reached the actual writing part.

Ranking my news and not so new blah blah, I have to start with the shallowest bit of info. Years ago I was hooked on Tru Calling because I love Luc. I stopped watching when he died, Matthew Bomer was the only thing that got me addicted on that show in the first place. So after several years (4 years) he’s back as Bryce Larkin on Chuck. I was uber happy (shallow I told you) when I saw him... so I’m dividing my attention between him and my new love Chuck (Zachary Levi).

When one ages in any acceptable fashion (be it gracefully, dramatically, drastic, pathetic, whatever) you are forced to look back at the past year that went by and to ask the question what happened. You may remember happy gatherings, surprise parties, a special person, a very fabulous gift, something you have bought, something painful, an embarrassing situation, an accident, a love story, sweet words, proud moments, monumental achievements and other things that made a topsy-turvy impact in your another year older life. When I was younger (than I am today) I called it the birthday jitters but now that I am old (yes older) jitters seem immature. The word jitters seems to lose its glitter (jitters glitters hehehe it rhymes). Two weeks from now I’ll be stepping into another race, end of the line for the 20s and I am at that moment when I am forced to ask myself what I did the past year.

I have realized that the way I am to my family changed a lot big time. This is one part of my life where I don’t know how to feel, I am already numb (in a good way I guess). Don’t get me wrong, nothing about this (my family) is bad... I love them to death and I am happy. I am just tired. Tired, but happy. Defensive as it may sound I really am happy. But I am always tired, physically and mentally.

Work has always and will forever be a blessing. I am happy and contented with my work. I am thankful that during the trying times, the economic turmoil, the financial crisis – I have a job. I am satisfied but most of the time stressed and tired. Maybe because of the load, maybe because of the scheduling, maybe because of a lot of things. Defensive again as it may sound, I am happy and thankful of the job that makes me tired.

Because of my demanding family and job I am left with very little time for my friends. I am blessed with different group of friends – my best friend, the guy, my college kada (the jologs & the guys), my HS friends, my work friends. I may not see them all very often but we always keep in touch.

I am enumerating my blessings because I am grateful. The last year may give yawn a yawn (that’s how boring it is) but it made me ponder on what is really important in life.

As I look back, there is nothing from it that I would change. My life may lack the lustre of a myriad color wheel but it was a life well lived.

Hello 2010

You might think that I am probably very excited for 2009 to end and for 2010 to arrive. I am not and I don’t feel any indifference as well. Let’s just say that I expect 2010 to be here any moment now the same way 6 months of 2009 passed without me noticing it. It was that fast that I didn’t have the time to think analyze and plan at all.

Time flies when you’re having fun so they say and in my opinion time runaway from me. Time is always in a rush and is running all the time. Oh well we can’t do anything about its phase.. but we can always make it worthwhile.

There's a new Korean craze storming the Philippines... kids, teens & the not so young especially girls are going gaga over the Korean F4. And by writing about it here there is no denying that I like the show too (not as much as I like Princess Hours, Dalja's Spring and Coffee Prince hehehe). I finished the whole DVD last night and while watching the end credits I can't help but laugh... kaya naman pala maganda pagkakatranslate, mga pinoy gumawa... here's the reason why I confirmed that the piracy was 100% (or maybe in collaboration with their Korean friends?) done by Filipinos:see what I mean? there are a lot of funny subtitles in Tagalog

I won't give any spoiler because we all know what's gonna happen it was just pretty much the same with Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2... Meteor Garden is very different although it was based on the same manga. Yaman na ng writer nito, di ako magugulat kung magkakaron ng Tagalog version.

A friend of the Jologs (Denden, a classmate of ours from college) is doing a fundraiser for her nephew, the event is called Platelets are Love. Everyone is invited to attend this good cause. It's on June 3 (Wednesday) 9pm at Mag:Net Highstreet (at the Fort).

This is the type of events where we should waste our time (and money) on. We can help while enjoying good music.

A Walk in the Park

When my sister & I were young we used to have picnics and trips to the zoo, the park and other play grounds, my parents took us to those type of amusement locations. It was very different before because shopping malls are strictly for its main purpose only – for shopping. There are countable times when my Mama go to the malls (sometimes we went with her – as long as we promised that we will not ask her to buy us anything even cheap toys, etc.) – before Christmas, Birthdays (or if she’ll be attending a wedding, she needs to buy a gift, or our shoes if we’re on the entourage) and before classes starts (for the school supplies & again shoes). But now with the emergence of shopping malls that says “we got it all for you” and its competitors malling (which is not even a word in the dictionary) is already a lakwatsa experience to a child. My nephews and nieces are not familiar with museums (except during their school field trips – which occasionally also includes a trip to the mall, so ironic) or national parks & other small zoos. All my pamangkins knows is that when we will go out for pasyal we are going to the mall. We changed all of it last Sunday, while Papa was busy with the Paquioa-Hatton fight, my Ma, my sister and I took my pamangkins to a picnic at the Rizal Park. My small pamangkins saw the park in their text books and we thought it would be great if they could see the real thing. Here are some shots from yesterday’s trip. It feels amazing seeing them running, kite flying and just simply living the way kids should. It’s a great time for them – away from the television, away from their gaming consoles... just having pure fun and enjoyment.

The Supremes are always messing up with me, I don’t find it irritating though. I am just thankful that in their very busy lives they still managed to think of something that will definitely shake my dormant life. There are times when things they planned for me leaves me crashed and burned and most of the time I know it’s my fault.

Oh well another earth shaking incident however I find myself just staring into nothingness.

How can life get so complicated? Cliché I know but I’d still want to let it out and say it.

Sleep Early NO TV Tuesday

The majority have spoken (some of my neighbors not included) that they don’t like the climate change that is happening. Global Warming is really a life threatening phenomena.

The once a year Earth Hour is a really a big move and as a supporter of this honorable cause why don’t we step it up a little? Why not make it once every quarter? For some reasons I do believe that making this a regular thing not just once a week is asking for too much and I know that it was just easy for me to say. That is why I decided to act on it. I am launching my very own “Sleep Early NO TV Tuesday”. I am a lady with a mission here, I know it may sound stupid but I believe that every great journey (this one is saving planet Earth) starts with a single (stupid as it may sound in this agenda) step. I promise to do this whenever I can... no lights, no TV & no Ipod (of course any crusade will encounter exclusion(s) somewhere along the way and defensive as it may sound... I am not making any excuses I am just saying that there are always some justifiable circumstances *wink*).

1. It’s my least favourite day of the week (pretty selfish huh?)

3. This day was named after Tyr – Nordic’s God of War, Mars’ (Roman) and Ares’ (Greek) counterpart (thus MARTES). I don’t want lightning bolt to strike me when I say this – they are my least favourite Gods in any mythology.
4. Nothing good is on TV (I planned this pretty well) and a little beauty sleep is good for the health
5. It’s the day of the week that most people feel lazy – it’s the day that followed the busiest day of the week which is Monday, the day after the weekend hence making Tuesday the day when you are very much still feeling attached to you bed or the couch

Book-buying Diet (more like starving sobs)

I updated my book inventory only to find out that there are 39 books I bought (or were given to me) over the past years that are still unread. Some though were half read but still 39 is a pretty high number. I decided to challenge myself and try to cut the number by half before the International Bookfair or else I will not attend this one big event in my life that happens only just once a year which is usually the highlight of my year (I know it topped my birthday but don’t think I’m not grateful for this life because I AM).

So no more new books for me unless I read at least 19 before September. I need to break my 2 books a month quota and elevate it to atleast 4 if I want to be successful. That is why if I'm not reading I should be reading...

Luchie's Birthday

Last week was my bestfriend Luchie’s birthday celeb. Tuesday was the dinner at her place in Marikina where Mark & I had the privileged of enjoying a sumptuous meal prepared by Luchie & her family. Wednesday was the spa treat from Luchie. Sophie, myself and Luchie had a very relaxing afternoon that started with a very heavy meal (buffet at Wensha). I think Michael Castro’s theory about the judge’s favorites being asked to sing last on each performance night for audience recall can be true. You can read MC’s post here.

Come to think of it, Danny, Adam and Lil all sang last on each group night and you can also feel that the judges likes them (a lot, especially Danny Drama este Gokey).

I am just glad that I’ll get to see Anoop to sing again, not just tonight but on the following weeks to come, I can feel that he’ll be top 5 and up. AI is also trying (very hard) to spice things up this season – a new judge, lots of drama, non-stop bickering of Ryan and Simon and then now read this: TOP 13! I know I haven’t been doing much except surf the web today, blog and talk about chismaxes.

For now I am just gonna enjoy watching performances but I’m excited for next year. Can’t wait to see Jamar audition and WIN season 9 (hehehe I have the gift of prophecy).

I really appreciate what Ayala Mall does in helping cultivate (naks) the music appreciation of the Filipinos especially the young generation. They bring bands and other artists to do a series of shows and music fanatics like me can watch them for free.

Later today my friend Zie and I will head to ATC to catch The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus live. It seems like all the bands that we wished we could see perform live are one by one coming and doing shows here in our country. Next on our list – Craig David.

Just Not Into...

I have always been curious about the book He’s Just Not That Into You but still I didn’t read it. When I heard about it being made into a film, the idea of reading it faded away. I thought I’ll just wait for the movie version. Then I realized that maybe – just maybe, the writer of the screenplay and I don’t share the same perspective of the book. I am not saying that my interpretation would be more understandable as compared to the film’s concept but my version I think would give me a little comfort as to why guys are not into women like me (read: alright not women like me just plain ME). So I decided to read the book then again went against it.

It was my good friend M who mentioned this book to me years ago (then I saw an Oprah episode where the book’s co-writer Greg Surname-I-don’t-recall was blabbing and solving the world’s relationship problems by quoting passages from his book). M, an enthusiast on mastering women’s I mean human behaviour (my bad) was over eager in learning the ropes of taming women. He even attended a book reading symposium (or was it just a simple book review get together I can’t remember) for this particular book. He’s been waiting for ages for the film to come out. M was also keen on reading a certain book about finding Mr. Right or Marrying the Man of your Dreams type of self-help book. There are times when he scares me – reading the books when I should be the one doing so. He’s not even reading these books for the benefit of his girl friends (platonic ones). But his explanation convinced me why he’s so eager to learn what women wants. He wants to be WHAT WOMEN WANTS and hands down to him for thinking like that.

Sometime ago I learned from another male friend that he uses women’s perfume (Clinique Happy in particular) because this draw girls closer to him but I bet this was not solely his idea – he just learned it from someone I am sooo sure. This made sense, I don’t like guy scents especially the strong ones and we all know that men’s body chemistry is all different from us but it made sense. Women would feel safe when they smell him - they would feel that they’re in a familiar territory. But of course smart men would never ever dare use those fruity luscious scents (Victoria Secret anyone??? hahaha).

These 2 are examples of why I decided to be clueless as ever to why guys I like are not that into me or why the hell can't I find a guy that I would really like. Part of the reason why I decided not to read the book anymore. My 2 guy friends are just 2 and I bet there are more guys who are just as clueless and just as confused like me about dating and other relationship what is and ifs and what’s not. They would want to be likeable (who wouldn’t want to be liked) and are willing to step out of what’s traditional and stereotyped human behaviour in order to please. Learning the trade would just make me find out things that I’m sure would make me unhappy and things that I strongly disagree and don’t believe in.

All of these being said and me missing again the point I want to convey, I still would want to watch the movie because I saw a hilarious trailer about it. Also I firmly believe that books are good guides but then again the steering wheel of emotion is something that we can never own.

Advance Happy Vday everyone and I also want everyone to know (as opposed to what people who knows me believed in) that I don’t hate Valentine’s day, especially this year.
